Slack | Conditional Branching for Workflows

The Slack feature for conditional branching for workflows unlocks use cases that go beyond the basics. Slack Workflows can collect inputs and make decisions. Applications might include: PTO, deal approvals, expense validations… virtually any workflow where branching logic matters.
How it Works

This accelerator uses a powerful new feature in Slack: conditional branching for workflows.  This new feature lets Slack workflows collect input and make decisions.

To illustrate this use case, we built a quick example around PTO requests. Here’s what the use case example shows

  1. An employee requests PTO in Slack (OOTB workflow)
  2. Manager approves (or rejects) directly in Slack
  3. Only if approved, PTO assignment is instantly created in the PSA tool via Salesforce Flow

It’s simple, but the possibilities go way beyond PTO. Building on this example, think about deal approvals, expense validations… virtually any workflow where branching logic matters.

Summary: This feature transforms Slack Workflows into something far more powerful than a form.
