Headless Expense Management with Claude

Agentforce reads emailed receipts and auto-creates expense records in Salesforce. When it's time to assign costs to projects, Claude connects through Salesforce-hosted MCP services for a fully headless experience. Query, assign, and split expenses through natural conversation, without ever opening Salesforce.
How it Works

In this video, we tackle a use case every organization deals with: expense management for traveling consultants and employees.

Instead of piling up receipts and scrambling to file expense reports weeks later, here’s the new flow: snap a photo of a receipt, email it to a dedicated address, and let Salesforce + Agentforce do the rest.

Here’s what happens behind the scenes:

✅ An email service in Salesforce captures the incoming receipt
✅ A trigger flow listens for the platform event
✅ Agentforce reads the attachment and automatically creates a Receipt and Receipt Items
✅ A confirmation email is sent back to the user

Once the trip is over, assigning expenses to the right project is just as easy — and you’ve got options:

🔹 Use the Salesforce UI with a custom LWC
🔹 Ask an Agentforce agent (via Salesforce or Slack)
🔹 Go fully headless. Interact through Claude using Salesforce-hosted MCP servers, without ever logging into Salesforce

In the demo, we show a real example of headless 360: sending a parking receipt by email, then jumping into Claude to ask “Do I have receipts pending project assignment?”, finding the right project to assign it to, and even splitting a receipt 50/50 between two projects, all through natural conversation, no Salesforce login required.

The result? Faster reimbursements, better cash flow visibility for accounting, and a much less painful experience for anyone who travels for work.
